Pretty Sunday
After dinner on Saturday night, John and I walked over to Paper Source and I spent about 30 mins just wandering around the store drooling. I found this fun box of butterfly clips that I HAD to have:) I brought them home and today I experimented by clipping them up on the bleached branches I brought back from Whistler.
Aaaah. Such a breath of fresh air on what has been a long gray winter. I am getting ready for spring!
Speaking of spring- here are a few sneak peeks of the Spring A Muse stamps:
How cute are these stamps?? I was in a very simple mood when I stamped these two.
Tonight, after dinner John and I were hanging out with Drake in the living room, watching TV, eating dessert- and I got a wild hair to start taking some pictures, because Drake is entertaining. I am still such a novice- I really have no clue how to get my photos to look the way I want them too- mostly because, as I have said many times before, we live in a cave. Caves are cozy, but they make for horrible lighting conditions for taking pictures. So, after 5 minutes of making John hold his dessert fork still so I could try and capture the look of anticipation on Drake's face, I totally decided to be brave and shoot on Manual. It was painful, but I finally got the light and the shutter speed and the depth of field working together to get an actual accurate representation of the scene in front of me. It was an immensely proud moment.
So, 242 pictures later....
:)
Here are my favorites:
That last two are my favorite!!! He does this all the time, but he'll usually move before I can get the picture. I also really like the close up of just his eye looking up. Not all of these are that great, but for my dark cave of a house, and a subject that isn't exactly still- not too bad for my first try on full manual. I did fiddle with them in Photoshop a bit after because I think all my pictures look to flat straight out of the camera. I probably go overboard, but oh well. :) Creative License, I guess:)
Allllright. I think that's enough photos and rambling for one night. Off to sleep I go.
C-ya tomorrow!

Your photos are great! I *wish* I could take such "amateur" photos!!

Dude? You shot on manual?!?! I am so jealous! I have tried that soooooo many times and then just give up and put it back on Auto. Sad. Very sad. Maybe one day I'll have the guts to try it! :-p

*random noter* You take such beautiful pictures! What exactly do you do to enhance your photos in Photoshop? I only have Photoshop 7.0 and still hardly know how to use it. I'd love it if you could share some tips.
