2630

I got a new clock over the weekend. (at Target, in case you're wondering)...I got this clock to help me with my ADD. Part of ADD is having a really bizarre relationship with time. Like, for example, I think things that don't take much time (like blow drying my hair: 8 mins) takes a really long time, but something that actually does take a long time for me (scrapbooking: 3+ hours) is half that amount or even less.

At the beginning of the year I made a few lists of things that I think can help my ADD, and putting clocks in each room is one of them. They have to be this type of clock, one that ticks, has actual numbers- not roman numerals or something abstract- so that I can re-establish my relationship and understanding of time.

I know that sounds totally dumb, but if you are anything like me, you will know exactly what I am talking about.

So, I really am excited and happy to have this clock, we are already fast friends.

I managed to use some of the very little down time I had this weekend to work on proofing some of the photos I have taken this year, specifically the ones from our trip to Whistler. I always seem to forget the proofing process until I am sitting down to work on a page or project (which is why, friends and family who are reading this, I never email or mail photos)...which is also probably why the act of making that page takes me so long...and why I think I never have any pages to scrap. So- call me proactive- I proofed and printed 27 pictures. YAY!!!

That should make about 9 pages for the 08 album! Whee!!

I am looking forward to figuring out how long all these things take me- I feel like I am always "working"- from the time I get up until I go to bed, I am either at the desk or on the computer- and I don't like that. So, better understanding will hopefully make better use of my time and give me back a sense of control that sometimes is beyond my reach.

Did you know it also takes me a really long time to write these posts:) I have been loving the "plop a photo up and call it good routine" over the past month- I am going to work on some ideas of what to share when this adventure is over on Friday- I might have a little blog party or something:)

C-ya later gators!

Cheers to your new found reality with time....teehee! Creating your own trail i see.
WTG girly!

you know, i have been saying for years that i have ADD ... which i really can't say for sure if i do. but so many times you have talked about things that sound so familiar to me ... that just makes sense to me.

i have clocks in every single room of the house ... including the bathrooms. i am constantly looking at them ... seeing how much time has passed and how much time i have left. i go non-stop from morning till night ... and yet, i feel like i accomplish nothing at all.

anyways ... can't wait to see the new photos on new layouts!

tried posting a comment on your previous post... but there closed ;) just wanted to share with you that i'm reading "love walked in right now..."

that is all.

I think the clock thing is a fantastic idea. I'm going to go out today and stock up and try it too. Both my kids are ADHD and I am ADD so I am willing to try anything to ease life. You hit the nail on the head when you were describing ADD. Thanks for the tip!

I have the same trouble with time... I'm constantly setting my clocks a few minutes ahead to keep myself from running late. Not that it works, but I keep telling myself that it's the thought that counts.

I never thought to try an old-fashioned analog clock. They're definitely cuter! Maybe they're more ADD friendly too.

i wonder if that would help my ADD?...i have to find a clock...I'll look into it tomorrow... oh, wait, not that's the procrastination talking...geesh
