Blog It on Facebook

Since my poor blog has been so neglected since I started using Facebook, I thought I would try out this new application called "Blog It" that will supposedly link up my Facebook Mini Feeds with my Blog on Typepad.

I am not sure if I will use it or not- I think I might like to use it as a more lengthy status updater/micro blog post...so one doesn't get neglected for the other. I have been in a serious relationship with my blog for a long time now, and I don't want to leave him for a newer, flashier version. I am a loyal woman.

Plus, there is a difference between my Facebook friends and my Blog friends. I don't think my Facebook friends want to read my blog, but my Blog friends probably wouldn't mind reading random little snippet posts once in a while...right? I WISH there was a widget that posted Status Updates directly into your Typepad blog posts. Do they have that?? I think that's what this is supposed to do, but it doesn't. Boo.

So those are my thoughts, now I am going to hit "post" and see what happens.....

Last Minute Valentine

 

Are you like this? One of the ongoing issues in my life isn't really "time management" it's more like "time confusion." I usually know exactly what I need to do during a day, but what I don't have a good handle on is actually how much time it takes to do some of the things I need to do. This is why sometimes it's the very end of the day and I am still trying to squeeze something else in. I know I am not alone with this, so these projects are for those of us that need a quick last minute solution for a Valentine's Day giftie...

 

Do you have a little decorative tin or box that fits pictures?How about sending some to 1hr photo for developing and giving them as a gift to a friend or grandparent or teacher? You could make this while your kiddies are in school and give it to the teacher at the end of the school day. I fussed it up just a tiny bit by making a little co-ordinating card- I decorated both the tin and the card with American Crafts Details layered stickers.

 

Do you have a grocery store nearby with a half-way decent bakery? I guarantee you can find a really yummy, gooey treat for next to nothing- just slap it into a ziplock baggie and make a little treat topper. I made this one with an A Muse notecard, A Muse sentiment stamp, a K&Co Brad (girl scouts), and my scallop punch from Stampin' Up. I just stapled the topper onto the bag, folded the scallop up over the staples and glued it into place. Then I added the brad and the little sentiment tag. Inside? A huge iced macaroon cookie. Yum.

I don't know if I will have time to make one more project before the big day on Saturday- I am headed to work with John tomorrow! I am officially becoming a partner in his paint business! Wahoo! lol!! I have wanted to do this for a long time, and am really looking forward to learning all about the painting world. I will still be craftin' like always, but now I will be craftin' with a j-o-b!

If I have time though, I will do one more "For the Love" project and then one more giveaway.

I hope you are looking forward to Valentine's Day! Do you have any special plans? All I know is we are planning to make Chocolate Fondue. The rest is up in the air.

Super Simple Cards

 

 

Talk about the fastest, simplest cards ever. I love how even though the themed products are from totally different companies, they go together perfectly!! The "labels" or "tags" are from K&Co. and are cut from one single sheet of 12"x12" paper, and then decorated with coordinating Flair stickers from American Crafts! You can get the flair here, here, and here, and the paper here. The cards used on "cupcake" and "you rock" are from A Muse, and the harlequin pattern is an older notecard I dug out of my stash. 

Super. Simple.

Saturday Lovin'

 

 

Whenever we remember, if it's a special event or we're out on the town, or anything doesn't involve being at home in our sweats, we like to take these "self-portrait" shots. John is always the one holding the camera because he respects and understands that I don't want to be the one in the picture with the big head! :) We have dozens of these photos, some turn out better than others- this one was from a "date night" in January. (we take these pictures with our Canon Powershot point-and-shoot digital camera). These pictures are my most favorite- I am thinking about making a simple book of these shots, it would be great to see them together in one spot, chronicling our life together.

(part of this Valentine's Day craft thing includes indulging me when I talk about my hubs. He is my best friend and I love him to pieces!!)

I used a bunch of different stuff for this page, the "together" was from the "mix it up" KOTM, there are some older papers from KI, Doodlebug and Scenic Route...I used a JBS die cut heartfor the journaling, I really like the new "word strip" border paper from Cosmo Cricket "snorkel" and the epoxy words from Colorbok. Also, I am obsessed with "speech bubbles" and KI Tiny Accent Softies...those little 3-D dot stickers...I can't get enough...you can find some here and here.

I am headed out to my BFF Autumn's Baby Shower today! I am so excited to celebrate the soon to be arriving baby boy! I made her a special gift that I will share with you on a later post- her nursery theme is "Sock Monkey!" I can't wait to see what she gets!

For the Love... Valentine's Day Countdown

 

Hello, Hello, my fellow crafties!

I have been eager and anxious to dive back into this blog, and I decided that since I missed out on celebrating Halloween in proper form, why not do something for Valentine's Day instead?

I have already made a few projects to share, and have more planned, and I will make sure when I can to link you up to where you can buy the products used to make each card, page, project, etc. 

This first project was totally inspired by the product- I took one look at these adorable Looking Glass tile stickers from Making Memories and knew I wanted to make them into magnets- I made a little tag and photo collage using an old metal lined printer drawer I bought on Ebay a few years ago, and simply stuck the tiles onto small ceramic magnet discs (you can find these in any craft or hobby shop).

A few KI + Garden Shares

I realize I have been gone from the blog again for a long stretch- I was a little busy trying to work on some projects before CHA- and then it was John's Birthday- and then before I knew it, it was the 27th and we were headed off to Whistler (more on that later)...

a wild New Year's Ever at the Snoqualmie Casino with my girlies...

 

John celebrated his big 3-4 on the 21st of January! I baked him his favorite birthday cake (spice cake with butterscotch frosting) and we had dinner at home and he opened a few little presents from me- a new ski hat, a ski book and a cell charger for his truck...I actually started his day by leaving out some goodies "from Drake" for him to take to work, and then I made a big birthday sign for him to wear when opening gifts, etc...He told me it was a great birthday!

We finished up celebrating with the family last week in Whistler, BC. John's parents have a time share, our week is the last week in January, so we all made the trek north for some skiing and celebrating. We had such a hoot! I can't wait to share pictures of the "Peak-to-Peak" gondola ride!...but I will save those pictures and stories for later this week!

Aside from the Monkey Hook giveaway, I am going to be posting a bunch of Valentine/Love theme pages, cards and other projects here on my blog between now and Valentine's Day on the 14th- so keep checking in and hopefully you might be inspired to make a few lovey dovey projects of your own!
