Who is this chick?
Hi everyone!
My name is Jennifer, and I am a WAHM, a freelance graphic designer, amatuer stylist, product designer, small business owner, crafter, blogger... you name it: I have a lot of irons in the fire. I started blogging at the end of 2005 to connect with fellow crafters- back when blogs were nothing like they are today.
I took a long break from it all (including this blog) when I found out I was pregnant with my daughter, to enjoy my pregnancy and her precious first years. I kept designing, either for myself or for clients, usually small projects here and there when I had time, I kept in touch with my craft/internet friends via facebook, and in 2012, I gradually started posting again.
I discovered Pinterest in early 2011 when I was gathering ideas for Maggie's 1st birthday party, and since then I have become an avid "pinner" with over 200,000 followers! My boards hold inspiration for DIY projects, style, decor, kid's activities and toys, recipes, gift guides, favorite fonts, hair styles I wish I was brave enough to adopt, and most importantly to me: graphic design inspiration.
The misconceptions I used to have about myself and my abilities as an artist have changed drastically over the past few years, and my desire to create is at an all time high- I am constantly sketching ideas for illustration and product design for my Etsy shop, for my clients and for my sanity. For the first time since I walked out of college with my BA in painting, I can call myself an Artist. I have paid my dues.
My blog is in a transitional phase, life has changed a lot for me now that I am a Mommy, but regardless of the schedule or features, this is where I share my loves. My love for design, crafts, shopping, family, photography; every part of this wonderful crazy life. I don't mince words, I am not religious or politically conservative, I can be a bit femminist and even a bit socialist. However, I also have a great sense of humor, a discerning taste for visual eyecandy, and an overwhelming desire to connect, inspire and grow.
I hope you'll follow along on my adventures.
Jennifer
